Our student assessments are continuous, learner centered and designed to support growth over time rather than relying on a single high stakes examination. From Pre Primary through Junior Secondary, our learner progress is monitored through structured classroom activities, projects, practical tasks, observations and portfolios. Teachers provide ongoing feedback to guide improvement and support each learner according to their individual pace and potential.
In Pre Primary, our assessments emphasize developmental growth and school readiness. Learners are evaluated through observation and age appropriate activities that build early literacy, numeracy and social skills. This approach ensures a strong foundation for successful transition into Primary education.
At the Primary level, our student assessment continues through regular classroom tasks, written work, projects and practical activities. Evidence of learning is collected consistently to track mastery of competencies and prepare learners for national expectations.
Our Junior Secondary learners engage in more advanced competency development while continuing with school based assessment. Learners are guided to apply knowledge through projects, presentations, problem solving tasks and collaborative work. Melon Mission School prepares learners for all national assessments required under CBC. At the end of Grade 6, learners sit the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment, which supports placement into Junior Secondary. At the end of Grade 9, our learners complete the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment, which contributes to placement into Senior School alongside school based assessment records.
